COUTEAU®

No charge, no obligation

Book a design consultation

Every Couteau interior begins with a conversation. Tell us about your rooms, and a designer will help you see what they could become — with no charge, and no obligation to go further.

The first step

A conversation, not a sales call

A design consultation is simply an hour or so with one of our designers, spent understanding your rooms and what you would like from them. We ask questions, we listen, and we begin to sketch out what bespoke fitted furniture could do for the space — whether that is a single wall of cabinetry or a whole-home project.

There is no charge for the consultation and no obligation afterwards. If you decide to go further, we prepare a full design and quotation; if not, we part as friends. Either way, you will leave with a clearer sense of what is possible.

Two ways to begin

At our showroom, or in your home

Choose whichever suits you. Many clients do both — a home visit to measure and understand the rooms, then a showroom appointment to settle on colours & finishes.

A showroom appointment

Beckenham · by appointment

Join us at 37 Croydon Road to see the four collections in person — cabinetry, door fronts, wall panelling and internal doors — and to handle the materials for yourself.

  • Walk through full-size fitted pieces, not swatches alone.
  • Compare colours & finishes side by side, in natural light.
  • Talk through your rooms with a designer, unhurried.
  • Visits are by appointment, so the showroom is yours for the hour.

A home design visit

At your address, at your convenience

If it is easier, a designer will come to you. Seeing the rooms themselves — their light, proportions and quirks — is often the best possible start to a fitted project.

  • We measure the space accurately, so nothing is guessed.
  • We see how you actually live in the rooms in question.
  • We bring samples of finishes to view in your own light.
  • You stay at home; we do the travelling.

What to expect

From first conversation to finished room

01

Consultation

We listen first. At the showroom or in your home, we talk through the rooms, how you use them, and what you would like them to become.

02

Design & quotation

Your designer draws up a scheme and a clear, itemised quotation — no pressure, and nothing to sign until you are entirely happy.

03

Made to measure

Once agreed, every piece is made to measure for your rooms — bespoke joinery, built to the millimetre.

04

Fitting & aftercare

Our own fitters install the work, and a written guarantee covering materials and workmanship comes with every installation.

Before we meet

What to bring

You need very little — but a few things help us make the most of the hour.

Rough room sizes
A tape-measure sketch is plenty — width, depth and ceiling height. Precision comes later, when we survey properly.
Photographs
A few pictures of the rooms as they are today, taken on your phone, tell us a great deal about light, layout and possibility.
Your ideas
Saved images, magazine cuttings, a note of what frustrates you about the current space — anything that hints at how you would like to live.

And if you have none of these — come anyway. Plenty of the best projects begin with nothing more than a feeling that a room could work harder.

Ready when you are

Let’s talk about your rooms

Email us with your name, postcode, the rooms you have in mind and a few preferred dates — and whether you would rather visit the showroom or have us come to you. We will reply to arrange a time.
